This research intends to investigate and to analyze whether there is a
significant impact of two teaching techniques, namely Readers Theater and
Reciprocal Teaching on reading comprehension achievement of extrovert and
introvert students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 2 Kota Serang.
This research was an experimental research with 2 x 2 factorial designs. The
population was ten classes (309 students) of grade X MAN 2 Kota Serang in
academic year 2013/2014. Before conducting the research, a personality
questionnaire adopted from the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) was
administered to measure students‟ personality types. Then, the samples were
selected by deciding which classes were having a more balanced group of
extroverts and introverts. The result of the questionnaires indicated that 2 classes
were appropriate to be the sample of this research and each class was categorized
into subgroups: 10 extroverts and 10 introverts undergoing the Readers Theater,
whereas 10 extroverts and 10 introverts experiencing the Reciprocal Teaching.
After having 8 meetings for the treatment, the data were collected through reading
comprehension test and analyzed by using Two-Way ANOVA to test all the
hypotheses raise in this study.
