The major research questions of this study are concerned with what are
strategies applied by the school management of CMBBS in fostering Language
Awareness in enhancing students’ speaking skill, and what are the teachers’ roles
in fostering Language Awareness in enhancing students speaking skill.
There were thirty students of the Sciences Study Programs 2 chosen as the
participant or respondent of this study. Furthermore, this study involved one vice
principal, three regular English teachers and one boarding school teacher. The
students were selected purposively to elicit in depth information in association
with the use of English language as medium both instruction and social
communication for the whole school community. Whereas, the involvement of the
vice principal is to elicit essential data dealt with strategies used by the school
management of SMAN CMBBS. In addition, three regular English teachers and
one boarding school teacher were involved into this study in order to gain the data
in relation to their roles in fostering Language Awareness in enhancing students’
speaking skill.
