The purpose of this study was to find out whether there is any significant different results of academic reading abilities among UHAMKA's English Graduate school students with different genders and different use of learning strategies. A quantitative analysis that covered descriptive statistics (mode, median, range, mean, standard deviation and the distribution of frequency in histograms), and inferential analysis (ANOVA) test were conducted to answer the questions raised in the study. The participants of this study were 2nd and 3rd semester students of English Graduate School of UHAMKA (non-regular batch). Out of 50 students within the population, 30 (16 males and 14 females) were chosen as the sample based on stratified random sampling. To collect the data, the study used 2 instruments; an academic reading test and 2 questionnaires (Student Demography and Strategy Inventory for Language Learning/ SILL). The student demography questionnaire was adapted from salem (2006) and the SILL questionnaire was adapted from Oxford (1989)
