The main focused of the thesis was to analyze and study the effectiveness competence, autonomy and relatedness (CAR) teaching model in enhancing students' reading comprehension. In this case, CAR teaching model was compared with contextual teaching learning. To analyze the result, 29 and 31 samples from two experimental classes were chosen out of 157 students of first grade of SMA Negeri 1 Pabuaran. Quasi experimental study was used at the study 30 multiple choice test items of reading comprehension were used to asses reading comprehension achievement. The same 30 pretest and 30 posttest test were conducted in both experimental classes.
