This study presents an overview of research devoted to factors affecting the students' English writing achievement in EFL setting which examines the relationship between age and anxiety in details towards Indonesian students' English writing performance. Data were collected from 66 students of LIA English course - intermediate levels comprising senior high to university levels with the age range from 14 to 32 years. the following research questions are addressed: (1) Is there any relationship between age and student's English expository writing achievement? if so, how is the contribution of age to student's English writing achievement? (2) Is there any relationship between anxiety and student's English expository writing achievement? if so, how is the contribution of anxiety to student's English writing achievement? (3) Is there any relationship between the interaction of age and anxiety towards student's English expository writing achievement? if so, how is the contribution of the interaction of both age and anxiety towards students' English writing achievement?
