The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the effectiveness of skimming method and magic speed reading software to improve students' reading comprehension achievement. The researcher used cluster random sampling and took samples in two experimental class was chosen out of 164 students of fifth semester of IAIN "Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin" Banten. The first class as control group which is has 31 students and the other class as experiment group which is has 31 students. Experimental study is used in research. The researcher used 30 multiple choice test items of reading comprehension were used to finding reading comprehension achievement. It is the same 30 pretest and 30 posttest were conducted in both control and experiment class. according to the result of the research, it can be seen that skimming method and magic speed reading software is effective in improving students' reading comprehension
