The objectives of this study were to find out (1) whether or not there was a significant difference between genders on vocabulary acquisition and grammar knowledge after narrow reading, (2) whether or not there was a significant difference between genders on vocabulary acquisition after narrow reading, (3) whether or not there was a significant difference between genders on grammar knowledge after narrow reading. To collect the data, the writer used vocabulary and grammar tests. Eighty eight students of the sixth grade of 03 Cibubur Primary School, Jakarta Timur, were involved in the study. An intact sampling techniques was used where the whole population became the sample. To normalize the data distribution, the writer excluded outliers by converting the collected data into a z score then observation outside the range of +- standard deviations were excluded. The data were then analyzed by multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and analysis of variance (ANOVA).
