Writing skills are one of the four language skills that language learners, including foreign language learners, need to master. In writing skills, there are various types of writing that are studied, one of which is writing narrative text. However, in practice, making narrative text is still considered difficult by learners due to several factors, including the low interest of learners in learning narrative text, and the difficulty of using proper grammar and vocabulary. Therefore, it is necessary to have an appropriate method to overcome the difficulties of learners in writing narrative text. Of the many methods available, researchers will try the mind map and cooperative learning approach which is believed to be a solution to help solve these difficulties by implementing it in learning narrative text writing skills. The research aims to know learners' narrative writing competence through the mixture Mind Map and Cooperative Learning at Level 1 of SMAN 4 Cibinong, to learn how to bring about the narrative writing lesson in accordance with the mixture Mind Map and Cooperative Learning in the classroom, to examine the competence of the learners' narrative writing after applying the mixture Mind Map and Cooperative Learning and to assess the effectiveness of the mixture Mind Map and Cooperative Learning in narrative writing. This study used a pre-experimental design method with one group pretest-posstest model. The sample involved in this study were 26 students of Class X SMAN 4 Cibinong in the academic year 2019/2020 as respondents. The results of this study are expected to contribute to enriching knowledge in the field of language learning, especially for writing skills.
