This thesis is a classroom action research which was conducted to improve the students’ listening skill through the use of podcasts which was used as an alternative learning media to make the implementation of learning listening more fun and interesting. The study aims to find out how is the students’ listening skill improved through podcasts and to find out how do the students respond to the implementation of the podcasts in learning listening. The method which had used was a classroom action research. The data came from pre-cycle test, post-test1, post-test 2, students’ questionnaire, observation of collaborators as the observers. The target group was the eleventh grade students of SMA PGRI 109 Tangerang. There were 35 students that consisted of they were 21 girls and 14 boys. The research was conducted in two cycles. The first cycle discussed the use of podcasts such as the definition, how to operate podcasts, how to find materials of English listening in podcasts, then in first cycle also discussed the analytical exposition text of listening skills for identifying general idea and detailed information. In the first cycle, the learning activities were conducted in distance teaching learning activities because of the Covid 19 pandemic condition. The activities were conducted in Google classroom, Google meet and WhatsApp group. The second cycle was conducted based on the reflection from the first cycle. The learning activities were improved such as giving more examples of finding general idea and detailed information of an analytical of exposition text. Furthermore, in the second cycle, the teacher explained more about an analytical exposition text and explained more about how to identify the general idea and the detailed information of listening process, the teacher sent a quiz of listening learning using podcasts to Google classroom to give more practice to students.
