This thesis explores the implementation of Nearpod, an interactive educational platform, in the context of reading comprehension. The research objectives were twofold: (1) to describe students' perspectives on using Nearpod in reading comprehension and (2) to investigate the effectiveness of Nearpod on students' reading comprehension skills. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining questionnaires and interviews. Using purposive sampling, 64 participants were selected from SMP Negeri 80 Jakarta and SMA Negeri 52 Jakarta. The findings revealed that Nearpod is an effective tool for improving reading comprehension skills. Students expressed positive perceptions regarding Nearpod's impact on understanding, critical thinking, and engagement. The interactive features, including questions, visuals, and media, were highly valued by students, fostering active participation and motivation. Questionnaire results and qualitative data from interviews supported the positive impact of Nearpod on students' reading comprehension. Students reported enhanced comprehension of complex vocabulary and concepts, improved identification of crucial information, and the development of critical thinking skills. Additionally, students appreciated the relevance of Nearpod's content, the opportunity for collaboration with classmates, and the user-friendly features of the platform. These findings highlight the effectiveness of Nearpod in improving reading comprehension skills and its potential to enhance the overall learning experience for students.
