The objective of this research is to investigate the effect of using bingo games and crossword puzzles on students’ vocabulary mastery at 5th grade elementary school of SDN Jelambar 03 Pagi. This research uses quasi experimental design. Population is all the fifth grade students at SDN Jelambar 03 Pagi. Sample as many as 60 students are taken by using cluster sampling technique. The 60 students are divided into two classes. In the first experimental class is taught by bingo games, there are 22 students. For the second experimental class taught by using crossword puzzle, there are also 22 students. The research was conducted from September to November 2017. Three research stages that had been done to organize the data were (1) giving the pretest and analyzing it before doing the research (2) giving the treatments during teaching and learning process using bingo games for VA and crossword puzzle for VB (3) giving the posttest to see the effects of those methods. The instrument used in this research was multiple-choice test. The data was analyzed by using paired sample t-test and t-test independent. Based on the data analysis, there are three conclusions. The first research finding showed that there is significant effect of using bingo games on the students’ vocabulary mastery where the tobs 10.985 is higher than ttable 2.0452 and p-value 0.000 is lower than α = 0.05. Second, the research finding showed that there is significant effect of using crossword puzzle on the students’ vocabulary mastery where the tobs 10.101 is higher than ttable 2.0452 and p-value 0.000 is lower than α = 0.05. Third, the research finding showed that there is no significant difference between students who use bingo games and those who use crossword puzzle on their vocabulary mastery. It means that both methods enable to increase the students’ vocabulary mastery. It can be seen form tobs 0.119 is lower than ttable 2.0452 and p-value 0.906 is higher than α = 0.05.
