This study aimed to study the implementation of self and peer- assessment checklist to assess students’ writing. This study investigated how students do the assessment tasks and the opinions of students after using self and peer-assessment checklist in assessing their writing. The study involved nineteen students of eleventh grade and used a mixed- method research design conducted at SMK Nusantara Jakarta from March 2020 to May 2020. Two types of instruments were applied for this study: questionnaire and interview. Data were collected by collecting students' writings and revisions assessed by using self and peer-assessment checklist. These data were transcribed and coded using the coding scheme adapted from Sze (2002). The data were also obtained by quantifying the questionnaire to find out the opinions of students in using self and peer-assessment checklist to assess their writings, and interview session was conducted to get more detailed data gathered from the questionnaire. The first finding of the study revealed that self and peer-editing checklist was useful for student to develop their writings for all students could revise their writings after feedback sessions. There were 112 total revisions found from second and final draft. Moreover, most of the students gave positive responses where there were 63,1% students had good experience in using editing checklist.
