The objective of this study to explain the gender is represented in EFL textbooks of Junior High School that present through visual and verbal texts and to describe the religious that illustrates in three English textbooks for Junior High Schools students signed by the Indonesian Ministry of National Education. The object of this study was English textbooks accordance in curriculum 2013 mandated by the Ministry of National Education entitled When English Rings a Bell grade VII 2018, When English Rings a Bell grade VIII 2018 and Think Globally Act Locally grade IX 2018. The study focused on the six aspects of analysis suggested by Longsdon. They were the number of Feminine/masculine pictures, mentioned, roles, games, roles models, and patterns of mentioning feminine/masculine names. The writer also classified religious theme are 1) religious picture; The number of religious picture in the English textbooks are counted, 2) faith picture; The number of faith picture in the English textbooks are counted, 3) religious mentioned; The number of religious mentioned in the English textbooks are counted, 4) faith mentioned; The number of faith mentioned in the English textbooks are counted. There is a result of this research, showing feminine roles are dominant in the verbal text. Meanwhile, in visual, it shows that a treatment gender masculine was the most frequent than feminine. However, emphasizing the result, in this research, masculine characters are more significant on figures while it is also found at visual that masculine also doing domestic work as male participation. It could be concluded that feminine appears more than masculine in verbal form, which could support masculine appearing to be less than feminine, however masculine showed doing a lot of feminine activities in the part of the chapters. In terms of religious, it dominated with neutral 700 words, in which the contents are not presenting any religion. However, there are contents for about 90 words presenting religious content.
