The objetive of the research was to improve the students’ speaking skill for large class by using cooperative learning and feedback. The research designed was classroom action research at the eight grade students of SMPN 122 Jakarta. The research procedure was identifying the problems, planning the actions, implementing and observing the action, and reflecting the action done. The data collection techniques in this research were speaking tests, observation, interview and documentation. The data collective and analysis used qualitative data which supported by quantitative data. The finding of the research show that the implementation of cooperative learning and feedback were successful in improving students’ speaking skill in large class. The students made a good improvement in some aspects of speaking skill such as pronunciation, fluency, and interactive communication. They had more chances to speak up. They easily learnt the materials with a group. They actively participated during the teaching and learning process. They were more aware of the mistakes or errors made as they always gave feedback to others’ performance. The group work activities applied improved the students’ understanding towards the materials and the teacher’s classroom management.
