The objective of the study was to know what are kinds of scaffolding strategies suitable to teach vocabulary for young learners and the research was to know scaffolding strategy in teaching vocabulary to improving students’ vocabulary. This research design was classroom action research at the fourth-grade students of SD Islam Perti. The participants of this research are the 16 students. They were consisting of 8 males and 8 females of students of fourth grades at SD Islam Perti Jakarta. The researcher got the result that impact of scaffolding strategy in teaching vocabulary can improve students’ vocabulary score. It showed from the students score from in every cycle. Cycle one test mean score was 69%, and cycle two test mean score was 73%. From the post-test or final result showed that 74 % of the students got the passing grade score. The techniques of data collection in this research test, observation, documentation and interview. In this research, when students were conducting scaffolding strategy, the students learned about vocabulary and solve the problem with the help of others in the classroom. They were enjoying to know vocabularies about animals within their group based on the materials were given by the teacher. In this classroom action research, the researcher found scaffolding strategy in teaching vocabulary can improve students’ vocabulary mastery at the fourth-grade students of SDS Islam Perti.
