This research belongs to a class action research with research object is Lexical Guessing In Context material and student of XI SMAN grade 109 Jakarta. The study aims to find an increase in students ' reading skills through the use of Lexical Guessing and student’s responses in English lessons. The results of this study show that all activities in cycle 1 were considered effective in that the objectives of the activities were achieved. While in cycle 2, lexical guessing strategy in context and reading comprehension were effective as the students were engaged and active in the activities presented and the results were satisfying. It is concluded that both Cycle 1 and 2 are considered effective, basing upon significant improvement shown by the score results of a series of activities performed.
