This study is intended to investigate and to analyze Implementing Portfolio as Teaching Model to improve Student’s Writing ability at State Polytechnic of Creative Media. The study was conducted to find the answers to the following research questions: (1) How is the implementation of portfolio as teaching model at State Polytechnic of Creative Media, (2) What are the benefits of implementation of portfolio as teaching model at State Polytechnic of Creative Media Jakarta in improving student’s writing ability, (3) How many obstacles can be identified during implementation of portfolio as teaching model at State Polytechnic of Creative Media. This study used qualitative research. The data collection was supported by triangulation of data collection method, involving classroom observation, documentation of student text, and interview. The research used seventeen students of Publishing in semester two and interviewed to get the data information and it also observed one English teacher to complete the data. Based on the result of this study, the researcher proposes some recommendations for the English lecturer and the school government: (1) to apply portfolio as teaching model in writing, (2) to be used the findings at research for teaching and learning source in teaching writing opinion, and (3) to give attention to the other lecturers so that they can apply the portfolio in teaching writing with argumentative text.
