This was a case study which had been conducted in six public junior high
schools in Kota Bekasi in academic year 2016/2017. 17 teachers became the
participants of this study with the use of purposive sampling as the way to choose
the samples. Questionnaire adapted from Cheng et al (2004), semi-structured
interview, and document study were used as the data collection technique. All of
the data obtained from those data collection techniques were triangulated to obtain
the valid and reliable data. Then, the data were analyzed within three techniques
of data analysis i.e. reducing the data, displaying the data, and drawing conclusion
or verification. Based on the research results, the research findings were as follows: (1) the teachers had sufficient knowledge and favorable perception of the importance of classroom assessment, classroom assessment purposes, principles of
assessment, and rubric usage; (2) the teachers conducted appropriate assessment
techniques in assessing their students; (3) the teachers conducted appropriate
classroom assessment practice.
