The objective of this research was to investigate comprehensively the effect of learning media and students’ creativity on the writing ability of the fourth semester students of the English Study Program, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, UHAMKA, academic year 2016/2017. This was an experimental research using a two-factor ANOVA at 0.05 significance level. The data was collected using the written test rating scale and the creativity questionnaire. The findings show the following points: (1) the writing ability of the students taught by Podcast was higher than those taught by Picture Series; (2) the writing ability of the students with high-level creativity was higher than those with low- level creativity; (3) there was an influence derived from the interaction learning media and the students’ level of creativity. The findings above led to a conclusion that generally Podcast was more effective implemented than Picture Series in teaching the writing ability. Moreover, the students’ level of creativity affected their writing ability as well.
