The objective of this study are to find out : ( 1)To measure if there is any significant improvement in students with video media as a learning media and students without video media as an learning media in their politeness competence.(2) To measure if there is any significant improvement based on students’ gender in their politeness competence. (3) To discover if there is any significant interaction between video as a learning media and students’ gender on their politeness competence, after watching video in their politeness competence on English club member of SMKN 6 BEKASI. This research was an experimental study, conducted at English club members of SMKN 6 Bekasi in the academic year 2016/2017. The samples were all of the English club members consisting 50 students, 25 females and 25 males. The researcher used the true experimental. The samples divided into 2 groups which consisted groups with video stimulation and groups without video stimulation. The researcher also divided based on gender for each group. The researcher instrument consisted of the Multiple Choice Discourse Task (MDCT) for measure their ability in politeness competence. The MDCT instrument was tried out get the valid and reliable items. Then the data were analyzed by using multifactor analysis of variance 2x2 (ANOVA). Based on the research result, the research findings were as: (1) there was significant different effect between students who were taught by using video and students who were taught without using video;(2) there was no significant different effect on students’ gender; (3) there was no significant different interaction between gender and video as a learning media. Finally, it can be inferred that: video media had significant different effect for students, but gender did not have significant different, and both video and gender did not significant interaction.
