Research on English pedagogy has been conducted over decades. Many issues such as teaching, learning, motivation, and assessment have been addressed in the research. Assessment has been one part of the issues in English pedagogy. Assessment plays major role in measuring student’s capability after learning. This research aimed at designing and developing effective online assessment (OSA) for the third semester students at University of Muhammadiyah Tangerang. In this research, the researcher modified the existing media such as eyejot.com into integrated online speaking assessment. This research is qualitative with R&D as the method. In this research, the researcher adopted Dick and Carey model to modify the video message in eyejot.com. There are 10 participants who are involved in the research. The finding shows that online speaking assessment design has helped the participants to improve their speaking proficiency. It also proved that this design has assisted the students in overcoming the classroom barrier in speaking English. However, this design fails to accommodate large number of students due to unsophisticated features provided by eyejot.com.
