The objectives of the research are to (1) investigate whether Rehearsal and
Cooperative Learning strategies are effective in improving teachers' English
speaking skills. (2) Whether Rehearsal Strategy is more effective than
Cooperative Learning Strategy in improving teachers' English speaking skills.
The research was conducted at SD Islam Al-Azhar 1 Kebayoran Baru South
Jakarta from November 2013 to February 2014. By using randomly sweep taking,
35 out of teachers were chosen. The method of the research was experimental
study. The instrument of the research used to analyze the data was the tests
consisting of: pre and post-tests measured through rubrics. Furthermore, there
were four kinds of data that had been collected: pre-test of experiment class,
pretest of the comparation class, post- test of the experiment class and post-test of
the comparation class. The data were applied to measure teachers speaking skills
and analyzed using a program of Statistical Package for the Social Sciences
(SPSS) version 20.
