The aim of this research is to analyse whether the English Formative Test for the Seventh Grade Students of SMPN 214 Jakarta in The First Term of 2018/2019 Academic Year has a good content validity or not. The objects used for this study are the English Formative Test and the syllabus of 2013 Curriculum. The writer uses the comparative descriptive analysis method in analysing and obtaining data about the conformity and the deviation (unconformity) between the content in English Formative Test and the Objectives and Materials in the syllabus. In this research, the writer uses a checklist table to collect data and calculated it by using the formula P = f/N x 100%. The data was compared with Arikunto’s criterion. The data of the research showed that the percentage of the validity from the English formative is 96%. It concludes that the content validity of the English formative test for the seventh grade students of SMPN 214 Jakarta in the first term of 2018/2019 academic year has good content.
