YUSNIDAR, NIM: 1001065239 The Relationship Between Students’ Vocabulary Mastery and Their Reading Comprehension at the eleventh Grade of 111 Senior High School North Jakarta in 2014/2015 Academic Year. The writer got the data by using test instrument and did the research by using correlation technique. The data will be analyzed by using the Pearson’s Product Moment formula for two variables; vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension. The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is a relationship between students’ vocabulary mastery and their reading comprehension at the eleventh grade of 111 Senior High School North Jakarta. The research was done on 14th January until 15th January 2015. The populations of this research were 176 students at the eleventh grade of 111 Senior High School North Jakarta, which is distributed into 4 classes. The writer assumes that the average ability of eleventh grade students are the same, so the writer took the sample randomly is XI science class. Based on the data analysis, it shows robserved 0.954 and rtable in 0.05 is 0.325. In other word, robserved is higher than rtable (ro>rt). As the sequence, Ho is rejected and Hi is accepted. Then on regression analysis there is contribution of vocabulary mastery to reading comprehension that can be seen statistically Ŷ = a + bXi = -13.52 + 1.19Xi. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between students vocabulary mastery and their reading comprehension at the eleventh grade of 111 Senior High School North Jakarta in the 2014/2015 Academic Year.In other words there is a significant relationship between students’ vocabulary mastery and their reading comprehension at the eleventh grade students of 111 Senior High School North Jakarta in 2014/2015 Academic Year.
