Sulastri, Yeni. 2013. The Relationship Between Students ' Emotional Intelligence and Their Reading Comprehension at the Tenth Grade of SMICV 1 Cilegon in 2013 — 2014 Academic Year. This research is aimed to explain wether there is a relation or not between students' emotional intelligence and reading comprehension at tenth grade of SMKN 1 Cilegon. The research takes quantitative approach (field research). The technique of data collection using questionnaire to measure students' emotional intelligence and test to measure students' reading comprehension. Based on the data analysis, it can be found the classification of high score in Emotional Intelligence is 40.62% which includes 13 students and the low score is 25% include 8 students (total of students are 32). The different percentage can be seen also in Reading Comprehension. The low score has 21.88% include 7 students and the high score has 40.62% include 13 students. Based on the Analysis Of Variant, the score of Fob = 57.96C and F = 4.17, In case, F ta4, = 7.950 4.17, so Ho is rejected because Fobsn.„„a is higher than F . The second calculation is produced from determining coefficient of P = 0.659 can be defined that the variable of emotional intelligence has a high impact about 65.9% (R x 100%) to reading comprehension, and another percentage (34.1%) can be explained by the other variables. In addition, the calculation from pearson product moment has the score of r . , d = 0.812 which is higher than (0.8 t2> 0.349) and a probability (P = 0.000) which is lower than significant level about 5% or 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). From all calculation, it can be summarized there is a significant relationship between students' emotional intelligence (X) and reading comprehension (Y).
