MIA TAMALAN, 1101065057.An Item Analysis of the English Summative Test for the Third Grade Students of SMPN 18 Tangerang in the First Semester 2014/2015 Academic Year.A Paper. The objectives of this research are to know the quality of the English summative test for the third grade students at SMPN 18 Tangerang based on the quality of the items and to identify the test items which are to be accepted, revised and rejected. The methods used in this research are quantitative and qualitative analysis method. Quantitative analysis is used to find the data of the difficulty level and discriminating power scores. Meanwhile, qualitative analysis is used to describe the quality and the weakness of the items. The sampling of this research is the third grade students of SMPN 18 Tangerang that consist of 80 students which are divided into 2 classes. Based on the analysis of this research, the English summative test which was administered at SMPN 18 Tangerang is not good because from 40 items, there are 30 items can be accepted, 3 items that must be rejected, and 7 items that must be revised.
