The experimental results of RHIC in its first decade firmly established that a new form of quantum chromodynamics matter, a quark–gluon plasma (QGP), is formed in heavy-ion collisions at RHIC. The experimental study of heavy-ion collisions with hard and electromagnetic probes plays a central role in establishing the formation of QGP at RHIC and in the subsequent investigation of its properties. The study of QGP at RHIC based on hard and electromagnetic probes is reviewed. |
