Serra is hostile to all irrational discourse that propounds false myths in order to arouse an emotional acceptance of the war; he advocates instead analytic discourse based on dialectics derived from Kantian philosophy, from which Serra adopts the idea that ‘freedom’ is the condition that allows the individual to evaluate his own action by ‘thinking for himself’, by submitting all opinion to the examination of reason.
