The objective of this research is to find out whether or not there is an effectiveness of using jigsaw technique in order to teach reading skill.In this research, the writer used jigsaw technique to teach reading skill at eleventh grade. This research employed an experimental method. In collecting the data, the writer used a set of reading report text test for pre-test and post-test. This research conducted on Bunda Kandung Senior High School, South Jakarta, in 2014/2015 academic year. In the beginning of this research, the writer did a pre-test to find out students’ first ability of reading skill. The writer then did some treatments to students’ of eleventh grade. During the treatments, the writer used jigsaw technique to teach reading skill. After that, the writer conducted a post-test in order to find out students’ reading ability after treatments.At the end of the research, the writer used the t-test to find the difference of students’ first reading ability and the students’ reading ability after the treatments. From data computing, the writer found the significance difference of average score between pre-test result (ܺതଵ=45)andposttestresult(ܺതଶ=83). It shows that jigsaw is effective to improve students reading skill at eleventh grade on Bunda Kandung Senior High School, South Jakarta, in 2014/2015 academic year.
