The Effectiveness of Using Pictures In Teaching Vocabulary To The Fifth Grade Students of Elementary School SDN 04 Warakas Tanjung Priok North Jakarta In The 2013-2014 Academic Year. The Objective of this Research is to find the empirical evidence of the effectiveness of using pictures in teaching of vocabulary to the fifth grade students of elementary school SDN 04 Warakas Tanjung Priok North Jakarta 2013-2014 academic year. The research was held at SDN 04 Warakas Tanjung Priok North Jakarta, which is Located on Jalan Warakas IV Gg. XX No.1 Rt 012 Rw 014, Kelurahan Warakas Kecamatan Tanjung Priok North Jakarta. The Research used quasi- experimental design. The research was held in eight meetings from June 6th, 2014 until June 18th, 2014. This included giving Pre-Test, Presenting the lesson, and giving Post-Test. From the result of statistic calculation, the table of t-ration (t-table) in 0.05 significance level. The df (degree of freedom) in this experiment is n2+n2-2= 30+30-2=58 so that the writer uses t-ratio (t-table) 1.67. While the data analysis gives t-observed 7.70. It is higher than t-table (to>tt = 7.70 > 1.67). It can be concluded that Null-Hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. The alternative Hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It means that there is effectiveness of using pictures in teaching of vocabulary to the fifth grade students of elementary school SDN 04 Warakas Tanjung Priok North Jakarta 2013-2014 academic year. From the conclusion of this research is the effectiveness of using pictures in teaching of vocabulary to the fifth grade students of elementary school SDN 04 Warakas Tanjung Priok North Jakarta in the 2013-2014 academic year. The benefits of the research result are: to make the learning process creative and more interesting, to make students more active and creative in the class and teachers can improve quality of teaching learning process for elementary students.
