The objective of this research is to discover the relationship between
students’ vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension on analytical exposition
text at eleventh grade of SMA N 7 Bekasi in the 2014-2015 academic years. The
writer took 40 students as the sample. The research consisted of two variables.
The first variable was the vocabulary mastery test, and the second variable was
reading comprehension on analytical exposition text test. The writer used the
Pearson’s Product Moment analysis in order to get the relationship between both
variables. The result of the research showed that the average score of students’
vocabulary mastery is 65.37 and the average score of students’ reading
comprehension on analytical exposition text is 80.5. Pearson Product moment
analysis showed that robserved is higher than rtable (0.97 > 0.34), and got significant
correlation that t observed is higher than ttable (24.57 > 1.68). It meant null hypothesis
(Ho) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (Hi) is accepted. In other words, there is
a significant relationship between students’ vocabulary mastery and reading
comprehension on analytical exposition text at eleventh grade of SMA N 7 Bekasi
in 2014-2015 academic year.
