Paper, Jakarta: The Study Program of English Education, the Department of Language and Education faculty, the University of Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka. The objectives of the study were: 1) to find out whether the test items are good or not for the students, 2) to classify which items needed to be kept, revised or discarded, 3) to find out the possible causes why the test items should be revised and made the alternative revision for each item. This research was administered at SMP Budi Luhur Ciledug Tangerang for seventh grade students on the first semester on December 9th 2011. The English Summative test consists of 40 multiple choice items and 5 essays. For practical purpose, the writer will simply analyze multiple choices. It can be analyzed using analysis method. This research uses quantitative and qualitative analysis as the methods. Quantitative method is used to establish the facility value and discriminating power. Qualitative analysis is used to analyze the causes of the weakness of the test items. The result of quantitative analysis will be used for identifying the weak items that need revision. The respondents of this research were the students of 2 classes. It is 60 students. The respondents were divided into two groups; who got the highest score is upper group and the lowest score is lower group. From each group the writer only took 25% or 15 students. This research shows that the item of multiple choices consists of 40 items but 2 items are falsely constructed item. For practical purpose, the writer analyzed only 38 the multiple choice items. 12 items should be revised, 4 items is discarded and 22 items have good quality. From that information, it was concluded the English Summative test which was administered in SMP Budi Luhur Ciledug Tangerang can be categorized as a good test
