The aim of the research was to find out whether the English Summative Test item consists of good item in view of facility value and discriminating power. This research was held at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Tangerang on June, 11st 2010. The population in this research consisted of the eighth grade students and sample taken were 80 students. The instruments of the research are the English Summative test papers and students‟ answer sheets were used for collecting the data. The collected data are put in a spread sheet, after that the portion of the correct responses from the upper and lower group could be counted. Then, the facility value and the discriminating power were counted using the formula from Heaton. Based on the analysis, the writer concluded that the English Summative test, which was administered in SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Tangerang can be categorized in general as a good test. From 40 items, there are 31 items which could be kept and 9 items have to be revised.
