 Abstrak
ABSTRACT Suryati B: Analysis factor of hygiene sanitary behaviour during the menstrual period in female teenagers at SMPN 2 Depok, West Java. Thesis of Magister Program University of Muhammdiyah Prof. DR.HAMKA 2010. The thesis aim is to discover the existence of correlation between dependen and independent factors. The independent factor most influencing hygiene sanitary upon menstrual period in female teenagers at SMPN 2 Depok, West Java. The research design is a cross sectional with population female teenagers who has menstrual period from class 7, 8 and 9 of SMPN 2 Depok, with randomize sample from 186 respondent. Data had been collected using validated questionnaire. Data analysed by univariate, bivariate and multivariate Chi-square to determine the dominant factor influencing hygiene sanitary behaviour during the menstrual period. Based on bivariate analysis found proven variables which are statistical significant ( a = 0.05) upon sanitary behaviour during the menstrual period in female teenagers; degree of parents educations, knowledge, attitude, availability of cleaner tools, and peer support. Meanwhile another variables not significantly correlated are parents occupation, siblings, information exposed, availability of information facility, teacher and health professional support. Based on multivariate regression logistic model, discovered hat the most influenced variable is peer support with the value of Odd Ratio 2,963 means possibility of support given by the peer group are 2,963 times compared with not supported peer during the menstrual period. The research result recommend the necessity to defend and increase hygiene sanitary behaviour during menstrual period through increasing knowledge of precise reproductive health so that possible in sharing information among peers, and increase the communication among the teachers, health professionals and parents, and the respondents as well.
