Abstrak
Aside from giving many positive impacts on a marriage, the presence of children has also been reported to decrease the level of marital satisfaction. The present study was aimed to discover whether individuals in a marriage between couples with at least one or both partners having androgyny gender-role orientation would have a higher level of marital satisfaction compared to those couples with a traditional gender role orientation.lndividuals with an androgyny gender role orientation have both high masculinity and high femininity, and therefore are more flexible in their cognitive processes and action, because they are not limited by the traditional gender-role. The result of this study showed that husbands in a marriage with one or both androgyny partner have a higher level of material satisfaction than those from traditional marriage. Also, androginous wives have a higher level of marital satisfaction than the feminine ones.
