The objective of the study is to find out the reliability of the English summative test for the eighth grade students of the even semester of SMP Islamiyah Ciputat 2006/2007 academic year. In this study the writer uses a survey method with correlation technique. The hypothesis submitted in this study is the English summative test scores for the eighth grade students of the even semester at SMP Islamiyah Ciputat 2006/2007 academic year with the teacher-made test scores is reliable. The instrument of the study is the second test or the parallel test sheet of the English summative test for the eighth grade students of the even semester of SMP Islamiyah Ciputat 2006/2007 academic year. The hypothesis is measured by Pearson?s Product Moment Correlation based on the pre-requisite test of the data which the distribution is normal and the sample is 40 students. After analyzing, the writer gets ro = 0.71 with the signification standard 0.05, meanwhile rt = 0.304. Because ro > rt (0.71> 0.304) Hi is accepted and Ho is rejected. It means that the English summative test scores for the eighth grade students of the even semester of SMP Islamiyah Ciputat 2006/2007 academic year which was administered by Kelompok Kerja Guru (KKG) is empirically equivalent with the teacher-made test which was administered by the writer. Therefore, it can be concluded that the English summative test is reliable.
