 Abstrak
This research is comparative descriptive analysis that involved the seventh grade students at SMP Padindi ? Jakarta Utara. Moreover, the objective of this research is to find out whether the English summative test for the second semester of second grade pupils is in line with the SMP Padindi curriculum based competency (KBK). The population of the research is the second term English summative test for the first grade in the academic year 2005/2006 in SMP Padindi North Jakarta which was tested on Tuesday, 20 June 2006. The research findings proved that the second semester English summative test for the seventh grade in the academic year 2005/2006 in SMP Padindi Jakarta was tested the material that has been arranged and given based on syllabus (KBK). It means, the test fulfilled the one of the requirements of a good test, it is content validity. Therewith, the writer analyzed two aspects of KBK, they are Indicators and materials, and the writer found that the most dominant aspect of indicators is reading (60%), speaking (54%), listening (14%), and writing (0%). And the most dominant aspect of materials is reading (44%), speaking (18%), listening (16%), and the last writing (0%). Based on the calculation and analysis, the writer concludes the most dominant aspect of indicators and materials are reading and the worst is writing. Then the items which are relevant with the KBK contents are 25%, based on Suharsimi?s scheme, it is very poor.
