The objective of the research is to prove whether or not the test items of the English summative test for the first grade students of even semester of SMP Negeri 110 South Jakarta in the 2007/2008 academic year is reliable. The reliability of a test is important to be proven because test is measurement instrument which is used to get the consistent and stable data. The method of this research is quantitative survey with parallel form technique to analyze and describe the reliability of the English summative test for the first grade students of even semester of SMP Negeri 110 South Jakarta in the 2007/2008 academic year. The statistic analysis is implemented by using the Pearson?s Product Moment Correlation. The population of this research is 119 students and the writer takes 40 students as the samples by using a simple random technique. After the writer analyzed and calculated the data, the writer gets robserved (ra) = 0.82 with the opportunity 0.05, and dk is 40 ? 2 = 38, the rtable = 0.325. Because ra > rt --+ 0.82 > 0.325, thus Hi is accepted. Therefore, there is a significant correlation between the English summative test for the first grade students of even semester of SMP Negeri 110 South Jakarta in the 2007/2008 Academic Year and the parallel test. It means that the English summative test for the first grade students of even semester of SMP Negeri 110 South Jakarta in the 2007/2008 Academic Year is reliable.
