The objective of this research was to find out the reliability of the English summative test for the first semester of the seventh grade students of SMPN 75 SSN Jakarta in the 2006/2007 academic year. The writer would like to know whether or not the English summative test for the first semester of the seventh grade students of SMPN 75 SSN Jakarta was reliable. The method that the writer used in this research was a descriptive quantitative analysis method with Pearson?s Product Moment Correlation technique to describe the reliability. The hypotheses that would be test were: (1) English summative test for the first semester of the seventh grade students of SMPN 75 SSN Jakarta in the 2006/2007 academic year was reliable. (2) English summative test for the first semester of the seventh grade students of SMPN 75 SSN Jakarta in the 2006/2007 academic year was unreliable. The instrument of the research was the parallel test of the English summative test for the first semester of the seventh grade students of SMPN 75 SSN Jakarta in the 2006/2007 academic year. The respondent used was 40 students. After analyzing, then the writer got ro = 0.87 with the significant standard 0. 0500 and rt = 0.3 12 . Since r o 0,87 > r t 0.3 1 2 , so Hi was accepted and H0 was rejected and the conclusion of this research states that the English summative test for the first semester of the seventh grade students of SMPN 75 SSN Jakarta in the 2006/2007 academic year had been RELIABLE.
