The English Summative test papers and the students? score recapitulation are used for collecting the data. The collected data are put in a spreadsheet called tabulation form. From the tabulation, the proportion of the correct responses from the upper group and the lower group can be calculated. Then, the proportion of the Difficulty Level and Discriminating Power are calculated using the formula from J.B. Heaton. Based on the analysis that has been done in this writing, the writer finds out that there are 12 items (24%) which are categorized very good. There are 10 items (20%) are categorized good. There are 6 items (12%) are categorized marginal. There are 19 of them (38 %) are revised. And also, 3 items (6%) are discarded. Based on the calculation above the writer concluded that the English Summative Test, which was administered in SMP Negeri 215 Kembangan have already had appropriate difficulty level and discriminating power, however 44% of the items were too difficult and did not have discriminating power. These items need to be revised. It was caused by such factors: 1) the difficulty of the test items, 2) the grammatical of the test items and 3) the format of test. Thus, from 50 items, there are 56% of the items are accepted and 44% of the items need to be revised.
