The research is done to find out whether the English summative test consists of good items in view of discriminating power (DP) and facility value (FV). This research was held at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 8, Jakarta on June,21 st,2010. The Population in this research are 40 students and 22 students as a samples. The English Summative test papers and student?s answer sheets are used for collecting the data. The collected data are put in spread sheet the proportion of the correct responses from the upper and lower group can be counted. Then, the proportion of the discriminating power and facility value are using the formula from JB Heaton. The conclusion on the research of item analysis showed that the English summative test which was administrated at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 8 Jakarta can be categorized in general as having fulfilled the criteria of good items. 28 item or 62 % were accepted, 3 items or 7 % were discarded and 14 items or 31 % had to be revised.
