Abstrak
The concept of pesession in Indonesia includes a relation between the whole and part of the family member and of the relatives, and a less specified relation betwee two entities. In terms of the forms, Indonesian has one pattern to express many relations of posession , whereas the languages in Eastern Indonesian have at least two patterns to express the relation. With respect to the concept of posession , the Biak language-a language in the eastern territory of indonesia-has more than two patterns of possesion. The pattern of possesion in the language depends on the nouns being posessed.there are two kinds of nouns in the language:isolated nouns and non isolated ones. The latter nouns are to express entities inconceivable without the prosessor so that their morphological pattern always shows a mark of the posessor. The relation for possession in non-isolated nouns of the Biak language is expressed with contruction of pronominal inflection for the pronoun of the prosessor like a verb for its subject. The concept of possession in non-isolated nouns comprises terms of kinship, body parts, and nouns of locations.
