Abstrak
The aim of this research is: First, to find the accurate data about teachers competence. Second, to find data about teachers teaching motivation. Third, to know the importance of the correlation between teachers competence and teachers teaching motivation. And the benefits are: to give some suggestions for teacher to improve their own competence, and to disseminate to all teachers and to give motivation to make them always be enthusiastic in teaching and working professionally. Educating process can be called good if the teacher have abilities to extend the subject matters well. Commonly, a teacher will have high competence in teaching if he has a strong aim and impulse to work hard or we usually call it "work motivation/teaching motivation" which is one of the decisive factors of a teacher to realize his work. Teachers teaching motivation is much affected by two factors they are a factor from inside of himself which called the intrinsict motivation, and a factor from outside of himself which called the extrinsict motivation. This research has been done in Madrasah Aliyah (Islamic High School) Al-Khairiyah, South Jakarta. The method that was used is descriptive correlational method, a method which has a purpose to find whether there is the correlation between teachers competence and teaching motivation. And the result that was found is: there is positive correlations between teachers competence and teaching motivation in Madrasah Aliyah Al-Khairiyah. This matter shows that the variety of teachers teaching motivation is determined by teachers competence. So, the better the competence of the teachers, the higher the teachers teaching motivation become in Madrasah Aliyah Al-Khairiyah, Jakarta.
