Abstrak
The general aim of this research is to find out the effectiveness of promotion, specifically to find out the quality of: communicator, message content, activity/media, and result. This type of this research is explorative with descriptive approach method: the problems that analyzed are communicator, message, activity/media and effect. The population of this research was student from all Madrasah Aliyah Negeri in Jakarta which consist of 14 school. While the sample taken based on random sampling are student from 5 school. Analysis result of all variables in this research shows: level of accomplishment for communicator variable is 65 %, level of accomplishment for message variable is 51 %, level of accomplishment for activity/media variable is 53 %, level of accomplishment for effect/interest variable is 54 %. Research result shows that the quality of communicator is good enough, the quality of message content of promotion or information is not satisfied, the quality of activity and media is not satisfied, and the result obtained is also not satisfied. Conclusions, the effectiveness of the promotion has a low effect and has unsatisfied result, so it is suggested to enrich the knowledge of communicators in presenting the message, to increase the quality of message content and the quality of media.
