Abstrak
The philosophy constituting Islamic Education in Indonesia is still unclear and infirm. This is because of the philosophical problem concerning metaphysics, epistemology, and anthropology in Islamic Education have not been completed yet. This research tried to reveal Iqbals thoughts in relation with reconstructing the anthropology of Islamic Education in Indonesia at spiritual, intellectual and moral dimension. It also attempted to uncover the relevance between Iqbals philosophy on anthropology and Islamic education in Indonesia. The study followed several steps. First was collecting data. The data were classified and systematized. Then, they were analyzed to find the answers of the problems, applying the methods of language analysis, and internal coherence. This research managed to uncover several important points based on Iqbals philosophy about the reconstruction of anthropology Islamic education in Indonesia at spiritual, intellectual, and moral dimension, based on the relevance of Iqbals thought on anthropology with Islamic education in Indonesia. In implementing toward Islamic education, educators needed to understand the characteristics of Iqbals consept of insan kamil that would possibly be appropriate to be given in the orientation of guidance to students. According to Iqbal, the characteristics of iman kamil were: first, a human being that was ready to act as if a God by embodying the attribute of God within himself. Second, a human being who proportionally positioned himself as Gods representative (khalifah Allah) which had the obligation to cultivate , arrange, and empower the earth. Third, insan kamil acted as a real axis (central) of spiritual power, and that prosperity, peacefulness, and safety of the world depended on him. This spiritual power, for Iqbal, should be decorated with aqidah and Islamic values.
