Abstrak
The aim of this research is to find out the effectiveness of collaborative learning method to enhance the students learning outcome at curriculum material development subject matter. The population of this study consisted of undergraduate students of English Department the Faculty of teaching and Educational Sciences Assyafiiyah Islamic University Jakarta. There where two classes of the students, one class as the experimental group and other as the control group. Each group consisted 31 students. Thus, a total of sixty-two students participated in this study. The treatment of the experimental group was assigned to the "collaborative learning group" while the other group was assigned to the "individually learning". A control-group posttest only design was used in this study. The mean of the posttest scores for the participants in the group that studied individually (41.16). A t-test on the data showed that this difference was significant at the 0.005 alpha level. It was found that students who participated in collaborative learning had performed significantly better on the curriculum material development subject matter than students who studied individually.
