Abstrak
This research is aimed at knowing the common error of grammar done by the second grade student of SMK. Students were asked to make composition in English. The grammatical errors then classified and reconstructed. After that, the errors are tabulated on percentage. Then, the writer interprets the data based on the percentage. The writer sees that the most common error done by the students is word choice. There are 58 of 280 errors or 20.17%. The second error that the students made is punctuation with 12.86%. The third error is omits a word with 11.78%. error of verb tense is 11.42%. Based on the research finding, the writer concludes that the second grade students of management program of SMK are able to make composition. However, the sentences they made are still far away from the appropriate English grammar, especially the word choice.
