This study is aimed to know the readability of the reading texts in the English textbook entitled Let?s Talk in English written by Bachtiar Bima M and Cicik Kurniawati and published by Pakar Raya. This study was held on 1 and 9 August 2007 on Jl. Kerinci South Jakarta. For getting the data, the writer used a descriptive quantitative method and the instrument was a cloze tests. It consisted of 6 reading texts that were completed by the students. The research has proved that the reading texts in Let?s Talk in English has percentage 74 % on the Independent level of readability. It indicates that the reading texts are not suitable for students because the reading texts are too easy for them. In order words, the students can comprehend the reading texts without any help from their teacher.
