The purpose of the study is to find out the reliability of an English summative test for the seven grade students of the even semester of SMP MITRA PERSADA 2009/2010 academic year. In this study the writer uses descriptive method with correlation technique. The hypotheses which wil l be tested: There is relationship between the English summative test score for the seven grade students of the even semester of SMP MITRA PERSADA 2009/2010 Academic Year with the teacher-made test score. The instrument of the research is question items of the English summative test of the seven grade students of the even semester of SMP MITRA PERSADA 2009/2010 Academic Year and equivalent question items in the teacher-made test. The hypothesis is measured by Pearson?s Product Moment Correlation. The respondent population is 45 students. After analyzing, the writer gets ra= 0.65 with the signification standard 0.05 rt= 0.288. Because ra > rt = 0.65 > 0.288, so Hi is accepted and Ho is rejected. It means there is a significant correlation between the English summative test scores for the seven grade students of the even semester of SMP MITRA PERSADA 2009/2010 Academic Year with the teacher-made test scores for the seven grade students of the even semester of SMP MITRA PERSADA 2009/2010 Academic Year. It can be concluded that the English summative test made by the MGMP for the seven grade students of the even semester of SMP MITRA PERSADA 2009/2010 Academic Year is reliable.
