Abstrak
The main problem of this paper is whether the English have good quality of difficulty level, discriminating power and the distracter. Therefore the purpose of this study is to find out whether the English test can be catagorized as a quality test. The English summative test consists of 50 multiple choice items with 4 options, All of the items are analyzed, thus there is not sample. The respondents of the study are 80 students of class II.6 and II.8 who are taken from 38.09% of the total Second Grade students of SLTPN 17 Pondok Gede- Bekasi. The descriptive method is used in this study. The data obtained by administering the English Summative test and the results of the test are analyzed by means of rating scale and percentage. There are two major findings: (1) Most of the English items test for the second grade second year at SLTPN 17 Pondok Gede-Bekasi are medium items of difficulty level and satisfactory of discriminating power. (2) In general, it could be said that the English Summative test has good quality of a good test. It is expected that the results of the study could provide some useful input to the test makers of English summative test in order to improve their ability. The writer also hopes the results of the research can give meaningful input for the teachers of English of the school, especially in making a good test.
